Syncopy and Atlas Entertainment in association with DC Entertainment and Batfilm Productions are now in pre-production on the Warner Bros. Pictures action adventure sci-fi feature film “Man of Steel 2”. This is the current working title of the film. Two tentative titles for the new film were suggested by the writer – “Batman vs. Superman” or “Superman vs. Batman”. Studio-level casting is underway for the lead roles in the film. Additional casting will take place at a later date with an independent contracted casting director. The stand-ins for the lead actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors will be cast throughout production in the locations where filming will take place.
Wolf Films and Open 4 Business Productions are now in pre-production on the new NBC Universal Television one-hour police drama series “Chicago PD”. Casting directors in New York and Chicago are holding auditions for new series regulars, recurring roles, guest stars, and day players. The series extras are being cast on an ongoing basis throughout production on season one. The show centers on the Windy Cities Police Department in Chicago, and is a spin-off from the hit NBC series “Chicago Fire”. Shooting on the first episode of “Chicago PD” gets underway in September, 2013.
Di Bonaventura Pictures and DreamWorks SKG in association with Hasbro are filming the Paramount Pictures science fiction action film “Transformers 4”, and the casting director has scheduled open casting calls in Chicago for people interested in working on the film as fully paid general extras and possible featured background actors. The open casting calls are for people over 18 years of age, however parents/legal guardians can bring photos on their children for submission. Chicago filming will take place from August 18, 2013 through September 27, 2013.
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ will hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
Marvel Studios and Arad Productions in association with Columbia Pictures are shooting the sequel to “The Amazing Spider Man” in upstate New York from April 30, 2013 through May 9, 2013. The extras casting director is seeking adult extras 18-80 years of age, as well as people who have vehicles that they would like to use in the film. These are fully paid positions and extras who appear in scenes with their vehicles receive additional compensation. Action sequences that include car chases and other special effects will be filmed in Rochester, NY during this period.
From the producers of the mega-hit ABC Family series “Pretty Little Liars” comes a brand new spin-off series titled “Ravenswood”. Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon Television will begin production this summer on the show, and casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are casting the first three main lead roles consisting of three teens. The roles include brother and sister twins, and another teen female. There will be two additional main lead roles cast as well as numerous co-starring and guest starring roles. The extras will be cast in Los Angeles throughout the season which begins shooting in Los Angeles this coming August, 2013.
The new drama series “Chicago Fire” has been picked up for season one by NBC, which made the announcement in May, 2012. The show follows the lives of the firefighters and paramedics working at the Chicago Fire Department – firehouse of Engine 55, Truck 81, Squad 3, Medic 61, and Battalion 25. The show’s starring, co-starring, and guest starring roles are being cast out of New York, with additional principal actor casting in Chicago where shooting will take place. All of the stand-ins and extras will be hired in the Chicago area. The show begins production in July, 2012.
