Disney casting directors are searching for two young actors to play lead roles in the Walt Disney Pictures/Lucasfilm “Star Wars: Episode VII”. Six casting director meet-and-greet sessions have been scheduled across the United States and United Kingdom to scout talent for two lead roles, one young female and on young male. In addition to the in-person casting director meet-and-greet sessions, audition video submissions are being accepted at the only official casting webpage that has been set up by Disney Casting director Maryellen Aviano.

Brand new Disney XD comedy series ‘Neckpee Island’ casting calls underway for child and adult roles
Disney XD has given the green light to begin production on a brand new half-hour comedy series pilot titled “Neckpee Island”. The casting directors have now sent out casting calls for series regulars and guest starring roles, for both child roles between 12-14 years old, and for adults of various ages. The extras will be cast throughout production, which will begin in mid-October, 2013. There will be a fairly large amount of kids cast as extras to play middle school students. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles.
Warner Bros. Pictures feature film ‘Man of Steel 2’ auditions and casting calls
Syncopy and Atlas Entertainment in association with DC Entertainment and Batfilm Productions are now in pre-production on the Warner Bros. Pictures action adventure sci-fi feature film “Man of Steel 2”. This is the current working title of the film. Two tentative titles for the new film were suggested by the writer – “Batman vs. Superman” or “Superman vs. Batman”. Studio-level casting is underway for the lead roles in the film. Additional casting will take place at a later date with an independent contracted casting director. The stand-ins for the lead actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors will be cast throughout production in the locations where filming will take place.
Open casting call for ‘The Garden of Last Days’ starring James Franco and Emilia Clarke
Nu Image Films/Millenium Films in association with Rabbit Bandini Productions and Evil Twins are in pre-production on the feature film “The Garden of Last Days” and an open casting call is scheduled for talent who would like to work as actors, dancers, and background performers on the film. All ages and types are needed including kids and all ethnicities. Shooting will be taking place in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area from July 10, 2013 through August 6, 2013. Filming will also take place in New York.
Casting call for extras to work regularly on NBC hit series ‘Revolution’
The hit NBC science fiction television drama series “Revolution” has been renewed for a full 22-episode second season, and the show has moved shooting locations from Wilmington, North Carolina to Austin, Texas. The series casting directors are auditioning actors for new recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. In addition, the local Austin casting director is seeking talent to work as series regular extras for the entire second season. Shooting will take place from July 5, 2013 through April 30, 2013.
Statewide talent search with open casting calls in Texas for boy to star in feature film ‘Sweet Cheeks’
The casting director for the upcoming feature film “Sweet Cheeks” is holding open casting calls and accepting email submissions for a boy to star in the film. The role is for an African American male, age 6-8, with a great imagination and natural wit for the lead role. He should be an extroverted kid who is full of ideas, comfortable around new people and environments, likes hearing, telling, or creating stories. Kids with interesting faces and timeless, non-modern looks similar to those in “The Little Rascals” are especially encouraged to attend the open call or submit by email. No acting experience is necessary, and this is fully paid position on the scale of professional actors. Shooting will take place in August, 2013.

The MuzArt World Foundation has partnered with the creators of the online drama “Proper Manors” to create a new online show called “Proper Education”. The partnership is intended to bring additional exposure to The MuzArt World Foundation which is focused on ensuring that music and the creative arts are taught in public schools in the United States. An open casting call has been scheduled for middle School and high school students 11-18 years old, females and males, with artistic ability whether it is in the musical, performing arts, singing, dance, band, orchestra, visual arts, photography, filmmaking etc.

Television in association with Bone Fide Productions and Film 44 are getting set to begin production on the exciting new HBO drama pilot “The Leftovers”, which is based on the novel of the same name by Tom Perrotta. The casting directors are holding open casting calls for people of all ages, types, and ethnicities to work as fully paid background performers on the film. Feature film ‘Beware the Night’ casting extras in New York through August, 2013
Jerry Bruckheimer Films is now in production on the Screen Gems supernatural thriller feature film “Beware the Night”, and casting for day player actors and background performers is ongoing. Filming is taking place in the New York City area through August, 2013. All ages and types are being cast as extras. Principal actor casting has been taking place in both Los Angeles and New York. “Beware the Night” is based on the novel of the same name written by sixteen-year NYPD veteran, Ralph Sarchie.

ABC has launched the first ever digital talent outreach contest in the United States, where actors and comedians can submit a video of their acting or stand-up comedy performance for a chance to be seen by ABC Casting executives. The contest is called “ABC Make Me a Star,” and will consist of two components. One is a private competition where ABC will select the winner, and the other will be a publicly voted competition where the public votes for the winner out of ten finalists chosen by ABC.
