The hit FX Network Golden Globe Nominated horror-drama series American Horror Story has been renewed for a second season and the award winning casting team is holding auditions in Los Angeles. The show’s format is anthology based, whereas the story, characters, and location for each season is different. The show’s guest stars and extras are being cast throughout the season, which began shooting July 17, 2012. The second season of “American Horror Story” takes place in an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane, although filming takes place in Los Angeles.
The production company Pariah in association with Prodco are ready to begin shooting a new pilot for ABC Family titled “Socio”. The casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are auditioning actors for starring, guest-starring, recurring roles, and day players. Extras will be hired throughout production beginning late October, 2012. The production office for the show is located at the EUE/Screen Gems Studios in New York City. “Socio” is one of five new pilots that are in production for the network. The others are “The Fosters,” “Terminales,” “Phys Ed,” and “Continuing Fred.”
The independent feature film “Something Whispered” is filming around the New Haven, Connecticut area and Northeastern Connecticut from late September to mid-November, 2012. There are two open casting calls scheduled for locals to work as fully paid background performers on the shoot. The casting director in Connecticut is seeking Caucasians, African Americans or Africans at least 18 years of age and able to portray ages 18 to 60. Both SAG-AFTRA members and non union people are welcome to attend. No prior experience working as a film extra is necessary.
The second film in a super-popular trilogy, “Catching Fire”, is now in pre-production and casting calls for the film’s extras have now gone out. Casting has been underway in Los Angeles for new co-starring and supporting roles. The day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in the Atlanta, GA area where shooting take place. Additional casting will take place on the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Kauai, and possibly in North Carolina.
Auditions for the brand new Disney Channel half-hour comedy sitcom pilot “Fantasma” are now underway for the series regulars. Casting is taking place in Los Angeles, where the show will be videotaped. Both union and non-union extras will be hired when shooting begins in July, 2012. The storyline follows a family that moves into an old house, and they soon discover that there is a perky teenage girl already living there – and she just so happens to be a ghost!
