Film Life, Inc. has announced that the 2013 NBC Universal ABFF Star Project acting competition is now open. Aspiring actors, who are serious about their craft, will once again have an opportunity of a lifetime to breakthrough and get discovered. Launched in 2009 as part of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), the goal of the Star Project is to provide a platform to spotlight talented, yet undiscovered actors, while supporting their career advancement. Each year, one male and one female thespian are selected as Grand-Prize winners.

The upcoming independent dark teen comedy feature film “Spring Breakers” is currently auditioning actors in Los Angeles for lead roles and supporting roles. Smaller roles and extras will be cast in Florida where shooting will take place beginning in February, 2012. The movie is about four female college students who attempt to pay for their spring break trip by robbing a restaurant, and end up getting busted. Academy Award nominated actor James Franco plays a rapping drug dealer who bails the girls out and persuades them to help him kill his rival dealer.
Alabama‘s Rare Quality Models & Talent Agency is holding an open call for models and actors in the tri state areas of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia who are seeking representation. MTV has picked up an adaptation of award winning British comedy “The Inbetweeners” and the series casting director is seeking actresses in Florida for a possible series recurring role. “The Inbetweeners” tells the story of four teenage boys in sixth form, basically the last couple of years of high school, and is narrated by the show’s central character.
