Liam Hemsworth’s last film before shooting commences on “Catching Fire” is now casting for lead roles. The film is titled “Paranoia” and also stars Academy Award nominated actors Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman. It is being described as a corporate espionage thriller that follows a war between rival telecom companies. Auditions are taking place in Los Angeles and New York. The extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles will be hired in the filming locations of Philadelphia and New York.
The search is on for the next leading ladies to star opposite Liam Hemsworth in the romantic thriller feature film “Timeless”. In addition to Hemsworth’s wife, and a new love interest, all of the starring and supporting roles are up for grabs in this time-travel movie where Liam’s character Rory builds a machine in order to visit his beloved late wife one last time. The powerhouse production company Relativity Media will begin shooting “Timeless” in Manhattan this coming July, 2012 after Liam Hemsworth wraps filming on “Empire State”.
The next film in The Hunger Games trilogy, “Catching Fire”, will begin filming in North Carolina this coming Fall, 2012. With four-time Academy Award nominee Gary Ross announcing that he will not be returning to direct Catching Fire, there is a good chance that a different casting director will be hired. It is most often the director who chooses the casting director, and three-time Casting Society of America Artios Award winner Debra Zane has cast every film that Gary Ross has directed or produced since 1998 including “Pleasantville”, “Seabiscuit“, and “The Tale of Despereaux“. Zane would likely cast Ross’ next project instead of “Catching Fire”.
The casting director for “The Hunger Games” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” is currently auditioning actors for co-starring and supporting roles in the NBC 1/2 hour single-camera comedy sitcom “1600 Penn”. Additional principal actor casting is taking place in New York. Shooting will take place beginning April 9, 2012 in Los Angeles, where all of the extras and stand-ins will be hired. The show features an all-star cast and can be described as a White House Washington political comedy.
Based on true events, the upcoming major feature film “Empire State” is auditioning actors in Los Angeles and New York for starring and supporting roles. Shooting will take place in New York City, and New Orleans where additional casting for smaller speaking roles and extras will take place. The three starring roles cast so far have been filled by The Hunger Games’ Liam Hemsworth, Young Artist Award winner and six-time Teen Choice Award nominee Emma Roberts, and Teen Choice Award winner Dwayne Johnson.
Sony Pictures in association with Overbrook Entertainment are set to begin production on the major sci-fi epic thriller feature film “After Earth” which had previously been titled “1000 A.E.” Shooting will take place in Philadelphia and some out of town locations starting on February 6, 2012 and continue through mid May, 2012. The casting directors are seeking both photo-doubles and stand-ins for Jaden Smith, as well as numerous extras to work on the film.
The indie political drama “Knife Fight” is currently in production in San Fransisco. The film’s starring roles are cast in Los Angeles, and smaller speaking roles, extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles are being cast out of San Fransisco throughout filming.
Principal photography on “The Hunger Games” began on May 19, 2011. According the the Screen Actors Guild, shooting will continue through September 3, 2011. Locations include the North Carolina communities of Hildebran, Charlotte, Asheville, and Wilmington among others. Casting for the films extras, stand-ins and photo doubles will continue throughout filming. Some small speaking roles will also be cast as minor script changes occur during the shoot.
The extras casting director for the Lionsgate feature film “The Hunger Games” are holding a new open casting call in Shelby, NC for local area adults to work as background performers on the film. The production will be hiring over one thousand extras throughout filming, in addition for stand-ins and photo doubles for the film’s stars.
The Universal Pictures feature film “Five-Year Engagement” is now in production in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area and the extras casting director is seeking local people of all ages and types including children to work as background performers, stand-ins, and photo doubles.
