On October 29, 2013, AMC officially renewed the Golden Globe Award nominated horror drama series “The Walking Dead for a fifth season. Darkwoods Productions, Circle of Confusion and Valhalla Entertainment will begin production on season five in early 2014. The show’s casting directors in Los Angeles and Atlanta will begin holding auditions. Actors may be considered as long as they are eligible to work in Atlanta and in the United States. Shooting takes place in the state of Georgia. The extras and stand-ins are cast throughout the entire season on a daily basis as needed. The series is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ new updated casting call seeking men and women

This is a casting call for the third film in this major feature film trilogy! The second film in the trilogy is playing at theaters now. This third film will be split into two parts, and is shooting both Part I and Part II back-to-back in Atlanta, GA through April, 2014. The following types are needed to work as fully paid extras and possible featured background actors for scenes shooting on December 17, 18, 19 south of Atlanta:

[WOMEN] Ages 45 and up. Any ethnicity. Thin framed. Must be willing to get hair cut.
[MEN] Any age. Any ethnicity. Thin framed. Must be willing to get hair cut.

To be considered, YOU MUST submit your photos in the proper format. Photos do not need to be professional, and can be a snapshot. Photos must be clear and recent color pictures. Should have a white background. ONE headshot, One full-length shot, and ONE full-length profile shot. NO hats or sunglasses. You should be the only person in the photo. Females should NOT be wearing makeup and you SHOULD have your hair pulled back, out of your face.

Disney casting kids, teens, and adults for new comedy series ‘Super Awesome Katy’

Disney casting directors are now searching for kids and teens who can play various series regular roles between the ages of 12 and 16. The show that is being cast is a brand new Disney Channel multi-camera 1/2 hour comedy series called “Super Awesome Katy”. She show will begin shooting in January, 2014. Many other guest starring and recurring roles, including adult roles, will also be cast prior to the start of shooting, as well as during the season. Casting for Disney Channel on this project is being done by the Casting Society of America Artios Award nominated casting director Suzanne Goddard-Smythe and Ty Harman. They are conducting auditions in Los Angeles, CA. The extras will be cast throughout production on season one.

Disney casting directors are searching for two young actors to play lead roles in the Walt Disney Pictures/Lucasfilm “Star Wars: Episode VII”. Six casting director meet-and-greet sessions have been scheduled across the United States and United Kingdom to scout talent for two lead roles, one young female and on young male. In addition to the in-person casting director meet-and-greet sessions, audition video submissions are being accepted at the only official casting webpage that has been set up by Disney Casting director Maryellen Aviano.

Disney XD has given the green light to begin production on a brand new half-hour comedy series pilot titled “Neckpee Island”. The casting directors have now sent out casting calls for series regulars and guest starring roles, for both child roles between 12-14 years old, and for adults of various ages. The extras will be cast throughout production, which will begin in mid-October, 2013. There will be a fairly large amount of kids cast as extras to play middle school students. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles.

Syncopy and Atlas Entertainment in association with DC Entertainment and Batfilm Productions are now in pre-production on the Warner Bros. Pictures action adventure sci-fi feature film “Man of Steel 2”. This is the current working title of the film. Two tentative titles for the new film were suggested by the writer – “Batman vs. Superman” or “Superman vs. Batman”. Studio-level casting is underway for the lead roles in the film. Additional casting will take place at a later date with an independent contracted casting director. The stand-ins for the lead actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors will be cast throughout production in the locations where filming will take place.

ABC has launched the first ever digital talent outreach contest in the United States, where actors and comedians can submit a video of their acting or stand-up comedy performance for a chance to be seen by ABC Casting executives. The contest is called “ABC Make Me a Star,” and will consist of two components. One is a private competition where ABC will select the winner, and the other will be a publicly voted competition where the public votes for the winner out of ten finalists chosen by ABC.
