Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures are gearing up to begin filming the upcoming reboot Paramount Pictures sci-fi action-adventure thriller feature film “Terminator” in January, 2013. A top industry production report has shown a working title of “Terminator: Genesis”, while other industry trades are calling it simply “Terminator 5”. The Casting Society of America Artios award winning casting director is now on the search for actors to play the roles of Sarah Connor and John Connor.

Disney XD casting calls underway for Kickin’ It season four actors and extras

It’s A Laugh Productions and Poor Soul Productions have begun production on the fourth season of the hit Disney XD comedy series “Kickin’ It”. Casting calls have gone out for new recurring roles, and will continue throughout the season for various characters. In addition to the actor casting calls, the extras are being hired on an ongoing basis. Disney XD announced that the show would be picked up for a fourth season back in August, 2013. Kickin’ It is the network’s highest-rated series in total viewers, and season 3 outperformed Season 2 in all ratings by double-digits. Kickin’ It season 4 is scheduled to air in 2014.

Disney casting kids, teens, and adults for new comedy series ‘Super Awesome Katy’

Disney casting directors are now searching for kids and teens who can play various series regular roles between the ages of 12 and 16. The show that is being cast is a brand new Disney Channel multi-camera 1/2 hour comedy series called “Super Awesome Katy”. She show will begin shooting in January, 2014. Many other guest starring and recurring roles, including adult roles, will also be cast prior to the start of shooting, as well as during the season. Casting for Disney Channel on this project is being done by the Casting Society of America Artios Award nominated casting director Suzanne Goddard-Smythe and Ty Harman. They are conducting auditions in Los Angeles, CA. The extras will be cast throughout production on season one.

Syncopy and Atlas Entertainment in association with DC Entertainment and Batfilm Productions are now in pre-production on the Warner Bros. Pictures action adventure sci-fi feature film “Man of Steel 2”. This is the current working title of the film. Two tentative titles for the new film were suggested by the writer – “Batman vs. Superman” or “Superman vs. Batman”. Studio-level casting is underway for the lead roles in the film. Additional casting will take place at a later date with an independent contracted casting director. The stand-ins for the lead actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors will be cast throughout production in the locations where filming will take place.

Disney casting executives are conducting a widespread talent search for a boy age 10-12 to play the lead role of Alexander Conners. The book has over 7 million copies in print, and has sold over 1 million eBooks. Casting directors across the United States and Canada are conducting a massive talent search for a 6-8 year old boy to play the role of Colton Burpo. They are considering new talent with no experience or training required. Filming will take place this summer in Canada, so as not to interfere with schooling.

The show’s casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are holding auditions for series regulars, with additional auditions to take place as soon as the regulars are cast. The stand-ins and background extras will be cast throughout shooting on the series pilot episode, which begins mid-March, 2013 in Los Angeles. From the Academy Award winning producers of three Harry Potter films comes the upcoming epic feature film “Christ The Lord,” based on the best-selling novel “Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt” by Anne Rice. The casting directors are accepting online self-taped video auditions from boys ages 7-10 to play the starring role of Jesus as a child. Filming begins on March 6, 2013 and will continue through the end of May, 2013. There will also be 2-4 weeks paid rehearsal prior to filming. The shoot will take place in Rome and Matera, Italy.
